I got to Re-imagine the Design of Velma from the original 1969 version. The idea was to make her feel more modern while still staying true to the original. She was a very interesting character to Design. This was definitely my favorite Character to design and came together really quick.
Velma played by Gina Rodriguez
Designed and Modeled in MAYA, Textured Painted in PHOTOSHOP and Rendered in ARNOLD
Velma Dinkley is a fictional character in the Scooby-Doo franchise. She is usually seen wearing a baggy orange turtleneck, short red pleated skirt, knee socks, Mary Janes, and most prominently, a pair of square glasses, which she frequently loses. She is seen as the brains of the group.Throughout her various incarnations, Velma is usually portrayed as a highly intelligent young woman with highly specific interests in science.
I got to Re-imagine the Design of Daphne from the original 1969 version. The idea was to make her feel more modern while still staying true to the original. Her Design went through many iterations. It took us about 9 months to get her Design right. She was so much fun and it was great seeing her Design evolve. We tried to make her body frame look like Taylor swift.
Daphne played by Amanda Seyfried
Designed and Modeled in MAYA, Textured Painted in PHOTOSHOP and Rendered in ARNOLD, costume design by Jamie Mizrahi
Daphne Blake is a fictional character in the Scooby-Doo franchise. Daphne, depicted as coming from a wealthy family, is noted for her red hair, lavender heels, fashion sense, and her knack for getting into danger, hence the nickname "Danger Prone Daphne". She has appeared in more adaptations than the other characters, aside from Shaggy Rogers and Scooby-Doo.
Daphne went through many iterations during my Design process. This was the first version for her. Everyone felt she was too 60’s with the costume and the pose.
In the Original Version i tried to stay true to all the 1969 Scoob version proportions
Next we tried a different pose for her and removing the strips on her skirt to see if she started to feel abit more Modern. Also gave her slightly bigger eyes.
Then we tried a totally different outfit, longer legs and Skinner . With this version it was clear she need to be in a dress, but we did start to like her abit thinner . More Taylor Swift like body.
SHAGGY ROGERS
I got to Re-imagine the Design of Shaggy from the original 1969 version. A number of people got to work on him before me. So this is a collective effort of afew Artists.
Shaggy Rogers played by Will Forte
Designed and Modeled in MAYA, Textured Painted in PHOTOSHOP and Rendered in ARNOLD. Hair Paint over by Production Designer Michael Kurinsky.
Norville "Shaggy" Rogers is a fictional character in the Scooby-Doo franchise. He is a cowardly slacker and the long-time best friend of his equally cowardly Great Dane, Scooby-Doo. Like Scooby-Doo, Shaggy is more interested in eating than solving mysteries.
Hair Paint over by Production Designer Michael Kurinsky.
There were various costume ideas we were playing with to see what worked best . We ended up going with no 4. Costumes Designed by Joshua Jun.
FRED JONES
I got to Re-imagine the Design of Fred from the original 1969 version. The idea was to make her feel more modern while still staying true to the original. He changed alot in the final version but here is my version of what i did in Art. Costume and body from a Sandro cleuzo Drawing.
Fred played by Zack Efron
Designed and Modeled in MAYA, Textured Painted in PHOTOSHOP and Rendered in ARNOLD.
Fred Jones is a fictional character in the American animated series Scooby-Doo, about a quartet of teenage mystery solvers and their Great Dane companion, Scooby-Doo. He has been mostly voiced by Frank Welker since the character's inception in 1969.
DEE DEE SYKES
Dee De was a really fun character to design . I only Designed her face. Body was designed and modeled at REEL FX ANIMATION
Dee Dee Sykes played by Kiersey Clemons
Designed and Modeled in MAYA, Textured Painted in PHOTOSHOP . Body designed by REEL FX, I was only responsible for the face.
Dee Dee Sykes is the brains of the Teen Angels and acts as their unofficial leader. Dee Dee and the rest of the Teen Angels found the frozen Captain Caveman and defrosted him. She wears her hair in an afro and usually wears a red turtleneck sweater with a blue skirt and red knee high boots.
MEAN MACHINE
I had an Amazing time Designing the Dick Dastardly’s Mean Machine. We were going for a Diesel punk look, spiced up with retro-futuristic innovations and occult elements. To Design and build this full set it took me about 2 months. The idea was to make this feel massive with alot of moving parts. Defiantly one of the best time i had Designing a Set.
CERBERUS
Cerberus is a character from the Greek mythology. I got to Design him for the end of the movie along side with the Acropolis set.
